There's a lot to consider as you make your accommodation arrangements. Step one is to browse your options.

First things first, you'll have to decide if you want to live on or off campus.

Dining Plans

Some on-campus options may require their occupants to enrol in a dining plan. Dining plans are also available to all York University students regardless of housing. Dining plans offer students a flexible and affordable way to eat at a wide variety of locations across campus. Students with a dining plan are exempt from taxes at participating locations and have access to a Registered Dietician for nutrition counselling. Details are available on the Food Services website.

Off-campus Housing

Residences at York University have limited space available, so for this reason or another you may choose to live off-campus. Whether you're wondering what's available to rent nearby campus, searching for a roommate or something else, the off-campus housing website is a great place to start.

Apply for Housing

Once you have decided what type of housing option makes the most sense for you, make sure to apply in advance of any deadlines.

If you are planning to live off-campus, rental applications will vary from unit to unit and landlord to landlord. Depending on the area you are hoping to move to, the building or additional factors, you may have to apply to multiple units before you are successful. We recommend starting your search early!
